It has been a busy few weeks leading up to our Lunch in the Vines on Saturday 26 October. The marquee was erected, kitchen in place, grass was mowed, vines were trimmed, tables were set, menus printed and wines chilled. All was in place to greet the 150 guests and most importantly our guest Chef Stefano and his team.
On Saturday the guests arrived and were treated to a wonderful day overlooking our beautiful vineyards – they are a breathtaking sight at this time of year. Stefano & his offsider, Jim McDougal created an amazing five course meal that matched perfectly to our Rutherglen Estates wines. MC, Steve Kline, kept us entertained with his quick wit and wine knowledge and our winemaker, Marc Scalzo, imparted some of his wine knowledge as only he knows how. After spending the day enjoying fantastic food, fine wines and great company, we waved our guests goodbye. All that was left were the memories (oh, I forgot to mention the dishes!!)
It is always a big day, but very rewarding for the Rutherglen Estates crew – we love seeing our guests have such a good time.
