Our Winemaking

We are a modern contemporary winery with an underlying respect for tradition. Our winemaking philosophy fuses talent with technology to produce wines of intense varietal flavour, complexity and regional character. We use both traditional and modern techniques to produce a premium range of fresh, fruit driven and varietally distinct wines with true regional character.

From our first vintage release of a single wine, a Durif in 2001, our range has developed enormously, to now include almost twenty different wines, varying in variety, style and appeal. While all our wines are consistent in their high quality, each displays the personality of our vineyards, our winemakers and importantly the vintage in which they were produced. With such a large range of fruit available from our own vineyards, our winemakers have the opportunity to experiment and to take advantage of special parcels, regularly adding different wines to our core range.

The Winery

Located within a tractor’s drive of all our vineyards, and on the site of one of the original 1850s Rutherglen Estate vineyards, the winery was completed in 2001 and is a modern and extremely efficient winemaking facility. An insulated barrel storage shed and cool room was completed in 2008.

The winery is easily accessed by road, being located just off the busy Murray Valley Highway, approximately 7km east of the Rutherglen township, and only 30 minutes drive from Albury Wodonga, the largest inland city in Australia, and the site of a major and expanding regional airport.

The winery was HACCP accredited in 2006, and continues to maintain and uphold very high levels of quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and environmental policy.
