Vintage is always a hectic time, but one we all look forward to.
The last 2 weeks of February have seen ideal weather conditions for the colour and flavour development of our red wines.
All of our white grapes have been picked, and the winemakers are extremely happy with the flavours and levels of natural acidity.
The red grapes are coming in – next week will be busy with Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Durif.
Of course in true Rutherglen style, we are waiting a little longer for our delicious Muscat grapes to ripen to achieve their full potential – luscious fortfied wines require high levels of natural sweetness.
We can’t wait to sample the wines – the only trouble is that will take a while!
