The Wine Front drink our Durif and Savagnin
Both Durif and Savagnin varietals are thriving in our Rutherglen Estates vineyards - this is why they are getting great reviews ...Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, 5 August 2011RUTHERGLEN ESTATES DURIF 2008I
liked the 2007 release but this 2008 Durif from Rutherglen Estates is a
bargain for the cellar. It's a tough, tannic release - in a positive
sense. It boasts robust sweet-sour blackberry and chocolate, fennel-leaf
and loganberry flavours and while yes, the wine's rusty, leathery
tannin is challengingly dry and assertive, it's great to see a wine made
in this fashion, released at this price. It tastes regional, sturdy and
good. Rating 91+'Learn more or purchase our 2008 Durif ...Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, 5 August 2011RUTHERGLEN ESTATES SAVAGNIN 2010Never
been to Rutherglen, but I see Mattinson has written an excellent travel
guide in the current issue of AGT Wine. Fruit salad bowl with a little
musk and spice. Served cold, it's fresh and juicy fruited with a decent
shape and a citrus tinged finish. Nothing wrong with this at all. Good
drinking dry white, of refreshinly modest alcohol. Rating 89'Learn more or purchase our 2010 Savagnin ...
