Chinese delegates are touring Australia’s wine regions this week as part of the national wine industry’s biggest collaborative initiative ever. A total of 100 importers, retailers and restaurateurs from China are visiting wine regions across the country to participate in Vintage 2011.
Organised by Wine Australia, this large-scale tour is designed to promote the variety of Australian wines to China’s evolving market. The perception that Australia is just one country and the wines are the same from across is Australia. This tour promotes the 16 wine regions, that all have very different vintage conditions from one year to the next.
In Rutherglen, some of the places they are visiting include All Saints, Campbells, Morris Winery, Stanton & Killeen, Bullers, Pfeiffers and of course, Rutherglen Estates.
At Rutherglen Estates, after a tour of our vineyards and winery, we showed them some good country hospitality with a lunch hosted by Phil Chamberlain, Patrick Gehrig and Marc Scalzo.
