Exciting news – Tuileries vineyard is being replanted

Our Tuileries vineyard has been receiving some much needed attention over the past month and today marks a new beginning as some young Durif & Tempranillo vines are being planted. It is our hope that the block will once again be a showcase of colour at the northern entrance to Rutherglen as well as enhance our vineyard experience.

We have been able to re-plant and re-trellis some of the original Tuileries old ‘Seppelts’ Block which has some historic significance to the Winemakers of Rutherglen. The wonderful old varieties of Caracosa (a shiraz clone), Xeres (Graciano) and Cornifesto that were planted in the sixties/seventies by Mandy Jones father Douglas (Bussie) Jones when he was winemaker/manager of Seppelts have been saved and hopefully with some irrigation and TLC will be able to produce wine once again.
